Although reptiles are becoming increasingly popular in the pet trade, they remain one of the most feared, misunderstood and persecuted animals on the planet. In 1993 I started the Traveling World of Reptiles show to teach children and adults why dangerous, venomous and feared animals are necessary to the environment in which they live. We do not persuade the audience to "like" these animals, but rather to "respect" them and give a better understanding as to why they must be protected in the wild. The growing interest in captive reptiles demands that we educate people how to properly handle and care for their pets, as well as teach kids why some reptiles may not always make good pets even though they can be purchased at many local pet stores. Reptiles are the main focus, but we also dispell the myths surrounding other animals such as spiders and scorpions.
